MORE BASIC ANIMATIONS

This sequence when actually animated/drawn will most likely create three gifs.

Fairy Design

Not quite sure if this will be the final design for her, but here is the first digital rendering of this character.

Animation update

I decided to, for now, abandon the hand drawn style and I broke his character down into basic shapes. I decided that I should work on manipulating these simple objects first, later drawing over them or incorporating them. here is the first body movement series that brings us to the end of the first gif.

Preliminary sketches // storyboard

I'm trying to create a backstory for two characters that me and my friend are playing, so I am choosing to illustrate their first encounter. Here is kind of a rough storyboard // character sketches of how their friendship began :)

Rough storyboard/ Proposal

I'm planning on doing an animation, most likely a hand drawn piece edited in photoshop. The idea behind this animation is to take the simple lines of clearly distinguished objects and, using those same lines, create a different scene.
We begin with a tree, it rotates, revealing a girl on a swing. We zoom in to the ropes of the swing, which become tracks, panning up to reveal a train. Finally we zoom in to the smoke from the burning coal and are again submerges in the same lines that represent tree leaves from the opening frame.

Progress post yayyyyyy

My goal was to mimic a shadow effect but with a bit more flare~ I didn't line up the shapes exactly at the same point of each letter/ nor the same angle or proportion, as a shadow would be~ Instead I tried to make it appear shadow-like but abandon those constraints, focussing on the overall aesthetic of the logo, making it fit into workable proportions yet extending on both the left and right sides of the base logo. I used the opacity tool for this.

Vector Iterations

Here is the iterations assignment for next Tuesday~ I'm personally fond of iteration 6, also iteration3 but a bit put off because it feels like the 90s and do we really want to revisit that time?

Progress Post

Refined the curves in my design and created a grid of circles, colored it using the color swatches, and made a very 90's feeling design that I then made into a clipping mask with my logo~ Reminds me of RoseArt or Crayola

Last class's progress post (late posting)

As you can see, I traced the geometric shapes using the pen tool and learned how to make a clipping mask using my logo.

Assignment 1: Show what you can do on Illustrator

A tattoo idea I designed this weekend for a friend. An illustration of the essence of his spirit. Used: pen tool, star tool (obviously manipulated there after), and color gradation.
