Preliminary sketches // storyboard
I'm trying to create a backstory for two characters that me and my friend are playing, so I am choosing to illustrate their first encounter. Here is kind of a rough storyboard // character sketches of how their friendship began :)

Rough storyboard/ Proposal
I'm planning on doing an animation, most likely a hand drawn piece edited in photoshop. The idea behind this animation is to take the simple lines of clearly distinguished objects and, using those same lines, create a different scene.
We begin with a tree, it rotates, revealing a girl on a swing. We zoom in to the ropes of the swing, which become tracks, panning up to reveal a train. Finally we zoom in to the smoke from the burning coal and are again submerges in the same lines that represent tree leaves from the opening frame.

Progress post yayyyyyy
My goal was to mimic a shadow effect but with a bit more flare~ I didn't line up the shapes exactly at the same point of each letter/ nor the same angle or proportion, as a shadow would be~ Instead I tried to make it appear shadow-like but abandon those constraints, focussing on the overall aesthetic of the logo, making it fit into workable proportions yet extending on both the left and right sides of the base logo. I used the opacity tool for this.
